Does the person receiving the therapy need to live in the state, does the company need to be in that state, or do you have to have both?

The website autismvote.org gives some good information about which states have laws that require insurance companies to cover aba therapy. you can click on the map and it shows a lot of information about how it applies to your child and here in PA the bill passed in 2008 but I looked at Washington and not sure it the bill was pass yet I hope this was helpful

Well, yes and no. I looked at that sight. Whet I don't understand is how they enforce the law. Does the company have to reside in the state? Or just by living in the state can you harass your insurance company to pay for ABA. I don't get how that works. Unfortunately for me, my kids are covered by their birth father's Tricare Reserve Select. You'd think the federal government would care if kids with Autism were getting help. Apparently they don't unless you're on active duty. lol

Hi! It depends on the state you live in. You can find information for Washington State here http://www.autismvotes.org/site/c.frKNI3PCImE/b...
Looks like they introduced a bill last year and will continue working on a bill this year. You should get involved!
