Vitamin B6 And Magnesium Therapy For Children With Autism/ADHD
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone used magnesium and B6 (megavitamin therapy) with thier children. I am thinking of trying this before resorting to medications. Please let me know if you have heard of this and what the dosages might be for a 48lb 6.5 year old.

I have not thought of using the mag or B6, but I did go see Dr Lawlis, a specialist in Dallas called the PNP Center. I went because I struggle with Bi-Polar and was having chronic headaches that no one could explain.

After A LOT of testing they found I had heavy metals in my system and some other neurological problems. They put me on Magnesium, P5P (activated B6 and dl-Phenalanine (for mental acuity and emotional well being). They have a website that thoroughly explains these supplements and what they are used to treat. I can say for myself that I saw an immediate improvement! I have been taking them since November and have not had any pain or headaches and I just feel better over all.

They spent a lot of time researching the different supplements to find the very best, these are all vegetable based and very safe. It would be worth the time to take a look at their website, they treat many different disabilities.

I have used vitamin B-6 for 2 years now and it makes a great difference in her behavior. She does not melt down nearly as much when she takes it. I give it to her every day in the afternoon. She used to take it in the morning but it sometimes upset her stomach if she wouldn't eat first but the afternoon seems to work as well. When she misses it for a few days we can really see a difference. She seems more able to handle things rationally when she has it in her system. She can"t swallow a pill yet so we give it to her in liquid form. It doesn't taste great but she is used to it now and just drinks it like a shot with an apple juice chaser! We have used magnesium now and then buy the B-6 seems to be the thing for her.
