I want to know if ASD is hereditary, if so please let me know.
ASD is hereditary... in most cases.
They have found that the genetics that causes ASD, are the same genes that create intelligence in all people.
It is a mix of how those genes affect the brain's structure that results in ASD.
There is some information here:

@A MyAutismTeam Member - the hereditary component does not mean that there has to be clear autism in the family for it to develop. There are so many variables, and it is a very complex mix, not just one or two genes. What it does mean is that you probably have some very bright people in your family, and so does your husband.
There is definitely a genetic component since identical twins are far more likely to both have ASD than fraternal twins. However, it's unclear at this point exactly which genes contribute to it. I have heard the saying "genes load the gun, and the environment pulls the trigger." Hopefully by the time my kids are adults and are looking to start their families, scientists will have a much better understanding of how to prevent the development of autistic symptoms in those who are genetically at risk.
They still don't know enough about autism, but they are saying there is hereditary involved now. But I have 2 kids with autism and they are they only people in the family with autism.
