Hi everyone
Im here once again! i hope everyone is doing okay. so, my 6 year old wants to play golf this time. We had him in soccer and unfortunaly he didn't do that well, so after the 1st game he took him out. Now is more advance than before and it seems he couldn't focus or so, but we are looking for something he can do and somehow he came out out of the blue with playing golf. So, here I go again....1) do you think is good for a HF Autistic boy to play Golf? 2) any places near Deltona, Fl… read more

Golf is a great idea! It's a low impact exercise, it helps with hand cordination, helps them focus and our son who is a teener and HFA LOVES golf! However, it is a bit on the high side but every May the PGA has a free golf lesson coupon you can take to certain country clubs, golf clubs, etc...to at least get the basics in. Driving ranges are a good place for him to learn as well. We live in Chicago so NOW there are several places we can take our son that won't break the bank in regard to actual play time; it's just finding a golf pro to give lessons for a reasonable price. We're saving to send our baby to the East Bank Club which is "la dee dah" IE, high falootin', expensive, swanky, posh, hoity toity, uh...you get the idea? And the thing is, the golf pro from the EBC is amazing w/our son! He's kind, patient, kinda cute (heee! Shhh! Don't tell my D/H!) and despite never having the opportunity to work w/an autistic child, he was fantastic!

Good luck! If you want, hit me back w/a PM and maybe together we can find lessons online for both our kiddies.

Love and peace;
AnaMarie
