1..2..3..Magic: Effective Discipline For Children
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just started reading the book "1..2..3..Magic:Effective Discipline for Children" which was highly recommend to me. I am only 40 pages into the book, but it certainly has my attention. Has anyone here read this book and/or used the technique?

@A MyAutismTeam Member I totally agree with modifying the guide book for ASD kids. I also look back on things I used to think were 'bad behavior' that are now known to be part of who my son is with autism. It's hard to not feel bad as a parent, but I was 'ignorant' and now I know better.

I've watched the videos. I think it has good underlying principals but I wonder when you get to fade the 1..2..3. I think kids shouldn't need that for behaviors that they have already been taught are wrong.

I have used the book.. Loved everything about it.. the problem is that all parents/ carefivers and relatives need to follow the rules of the book or the method isundermined y those who think THEY parent better.. The method does work quite well if all that work with the child/children are consistent..( as in any behavior mod program)..
