Swinging sleep issues

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
Cincinnati, OH

Usually my son is very hard to wake in the morning ( takes about a half hour of hard rubbing and talking to him to get him to even open his eyes and sit up) but twice this week he has been up for a while before me, Is it common for sleep issues go from one extreame to the other like this? Any advice for making his and everyone (teachers, classmates, siblings) day without sleep easier?

yeah my son's sleep varies sometimes he will like wake up several times during the night and be wide awake then others he will sleep thru the night and get up really early like 5am. Sleep issues are very common for kids on the spectrum.
