My daughter is supposed to be in a autism classroom in her school and they went as far as hidining it from me sending her home with paperpwork with the autism classroom's room number and everything on it , they hid it until i showed up at the school for a surprise visit and went to the autism classroom , they told me she isnt in this class we dont even know who she is, she is in a classroom where it seems like none of the kids have a disability, what can i do?

There is a Disability Rights Center within your state (For Example: Google - Disability Rights Center of Kansas) . It's a state agency and, once contacted, will work with you to help advocate for your child within your school district.

File a compliant with you're state Department if public education. You can also request in written for an independent educational evaluation and you can choose the . Your district has to pay for it, but once you do this the school will be even more

Sorry you have been going through but I understand as the school board forged my signture to my sons IEP. I was not the one to fine this a autism group I went to seeking help found this. And when I looked at it you could very well see that it was not my hand writting or my first name but it was my last name. I have been trying to get my son helpin the school system for two years now with nothing so I m again hitting a brick wall.hope all works out for you

Also contact your school district's special ed director. They can advise you too of a good contact. Also check with your state's department of education.

Our state has a Child Advocacy Agency that steps in and makes sure that the IEP is being followed.
