Hi. I felt the need to answer this one. My 17 yr old son was apart of the drug study to see if Latuda worked for autism w/irritability and violence. At the time we signed him up, the researchers wanted to sign up how 5 year old sister but the minimum age was 6 and Phase 1 would have been done right when she turned 6. Latuda helped wonders for our son. He was able to control his stemming behaviors in public. His stemming behavior is echolalia and a person who doesn’t know or understand autism will think that he’s schizophrenic or schizo-effective.

We went into this study, knowing that if this didn’t help him, it could help others. I hope my response helps you.

How old is your son?

I just looked at your profile and saw that he is 18. Has he been diagnosed with schizophrenia? I read that Latuda is only prescribed for schizophrenia. My daughter's biological Mom was schizophrenic. We just had CGH testing done to see if she has any genetic markers for it and we're anxiously awaiting the results and doing all the research we can.
