@onebusymomma I've sign the new DSM-V it should include most if those currently diagnosed and those being duped are in the high functioning range.

When the DSM-V comes out, there will be no more separate PDD-NOS or Asperger's Syndrome categories, only ASD. So you may want to have your child re-evaluated next spring when the new DSM is published. However, be aware that the states may change their eligibility criteria so that not everyone with an ASD diagnosis automatically qualifies. California already did that. My DD's case had to go before some review board for this reason before they agreed to provide continued services past age 3.

Yes get refinished our ask your dr to refer to a different psyc. Diagnosis of aurum vs pdd vs retts vs aspbergers has been more closely related to the diagnostition than the actual patient.
