I am bi-polar. I went to get tested for ADHD when my son finished breastfeeding. I expected my son to be hyper and difficult because every boy in my family always has been. It didn't occur to me that he was anything different then probably ADHD until he went for a year refusing to hug and/or kiss or receive affection from 30 months - 3.5 years. So, I was diagnosed bi-polar when the medication the doctor gave me (adderol) for ADHD stopped working. I am so happy that I went, because I would… read more

I have epilepsy, and Although not diagnosed I'm almost sure i also have aspergers. Aspergers is my sons diagnoses and he is the same child I was. I still struggle with a lot of the same things. My sons step dad also has a condition that affects his joints. These things Help in a way because we have been able to show my son that NO person is without flaws and everyone has issues that they struggle to overcome.

I struggle with severe migraines and anxiety. My other son has severe asthma. Our entire family has struggled with medical issues. We have had over 22 surgeries in 10 years. It has taught my family that we should love and appreciate each day. Life is short, so live for today and don't worry about tomorrow. Never stop believing
Remember to tell those around you how you love them. Learn. And also that everyone has struggles, they may be different, but we all struggle. Be kind...you don't know what others are dealing with. Also, these struggles will make us, not break us.

You can read my story...I am a soldier and battle many battles that are invisible...I take it one day at time...and am completely baffled at how time is starting to pass faster these days...and how much more exhausted I feel...

It wasn't a formal diagnosis, but the kids mother kept telling me that I was an @&&hole, and that it has a tremendous effect on how I raise the kids. The Irish/Scottish in me just waves my hand and says "bah".
