The most recommended facility (Marcus Institute) has a 2-3 month wait time & that's too long for us to wait. We believe our son has ASD (his speech therapist evaluation was completed which confirmed more is going on). We want to get him (and us) the help & support we need ASAP. Went to Autism Clinic @ Hughes Spalding Hospital, in October..DR. Leslie Rubin. Was told he didn't have an openings for the year...then recieved a call 2 months later and got in that week. However, have since been to Marcus Autism Center...hint, hint...got in sooner for evaluation by joining a study!! ONly 8 hours of my time and received compensation! Good luck...I know it's hard...I've got the diagnosis and I'm still trying to figure this all out. It's hard cause we want our babies to be better NOW.

I love the way you took unconventional ways to get appointments that usaually take a long time to get. Very good advice!

I live in southwest atlanta and my son was dianosed @ The Marcus Ins. But 1st I worked with "Babies can't wait" they provide resources & therapy. Also your childs doctor should give you a referral. Good luck! :-)

A credentialed The speech therapist or occupational therapist can validate diagnosis, as well. Wishing you much success...

I know my daughters doctor got us a referral which was pretty quick you may want to check with MR&DD also any school that has autism classes and a head over the parent group that would also be a great place to get referrals.
