Playgroups In Kansas City Area
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 2 year old son has not been officially dx but based on our Early Intervention SLP and OT feedback we are sure he will be. He is an only child and has zero interaction with other children. Does anyone know of playgroups in the Kansas City area for children with ASD?

Playgroups is the important clue here. You really want just one or two "normal" children to play with. Large groups can be intimidating. Large groups with ASD may not really help. I believe the idea of "Child Find" is a national trend, not just in Arizona. If your child has a disability, he qualifies for help at the public schools. Call the school district and check.

Your child does not have to belong to playgroups with children with disability, he can pick up their habits. Go to "meetup.com" and start a group in your area. Kansas City is one of the best areas for disability research. Your doctor may have information, just google your child's disability and your city and state.
