Today we found out my son's speech therapy will not covered under HAP insurance. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do about it?
Skirt the system have the therapy recoded and sent again. You would be surprized how well this works. IE speach for apraxia. Vs speach for a lisp vs encourang use of words vs encouraging sounds. These are coded differently if your child is considerd non verbal the insurance company may look at it as unnessasary. Changing the codeing to relate to another relavent aspect of his life may change the game.
Also have a dr write a note with proof of need sometimes that does the trick too.
Sounds good
We found with our insurance that while OT was covered without needing pre-authorization while speech required pre-authorization. I'd agree with above - see if they can recode it if all else fails.
