Just make sure you get an IEP when she enters school. That's a must. I'm sure she will do great!

My daughter has been at public school since kindergarten. She is in 4th grade now. She has an IEP and a full-time paraeducator. She also has speech and resource, but mostly she is in the mainstream classroom. She has grown up with her classmates, and they know, understand and love her.

Our son attends a public school. He has an IEP. He's in a special day class 20 hours a week, has an IBT aide (schools lingo for ABA aide 2 hours a day), PT and OT at school. For us the public school system has been super challenging at times, but has also been a tremendous help and best part is that it is free. We could never afford the help they are providing.

My son with ASD attends public school and is coping very well. The school provides additional speech and occupational therapies for him. I do have a lot of feedback from the school on his progress. It does help that he has his twin brother with him at the school. Everyone at the school have been helpful with him. I couldn't be more pleased with the assistance I'm getting from the school. He was attending a private school but lack of adequate resources for special needs students made us enroll him in a public school setting. I hope this bit helps.

@A MyAutismTeam Member aww thats good and makes me hopeful! My daughter is outragiously smart but her PDD effects how she deals with situations and understand the world around her, she is only three though. They have advised me she can do the special education preschool and attend the head start program as well. I just am not sure if she is ready for that so I may only send her to the special education program for three year old preschool and hopefully by next year for the four year old program she can do both!
