Yes, you can ask for ABA to be a part of your child's IEP. If the district doesn't offer it then you can request and outside evaluation. If the evaluation says that it would be helpful then it would be added to the IEP.
As far as I have learned it never hurts to ask for anything you think will help. Just make sure you have done your homework so you can make a case for ABA or anything you want to add to your child's ABA. In my experience school districts do this all the time. They deny services, deny diagnosis. IDEA says clearly that there does not have to be a label to receive services. We had to get a Special Ed Law Attorney to get our son the services he needed. We had to borrow to hire her, but part of our action was that the school would pay for our attorney if we won. I don't know of many school districts that offer ABA services in the classroom. You could check with the special services department in district.

Usually you have to get an outside ABA theripist and it is an expensive option...but the best one out there. Check with your insurance company...many are not offering benefits for ABA. You can always try and push medicall necessity.
