If you could ask your child's teacher any question without feeling embarrassed, ridiculous, stupid, forceful..ect what would you want to know?
What embarrassing details of our family life has our son told everyone at school. I can only imagine LOL.
Having been on both sides of the table (both a parent and a special education teacher)... what I would have loved my son's special ed teachers to be able to share with me were things like... If we weren't having to worry about the district paying for any recommendation you make to outside services, what additional private services would you love to have my son be getting? Do you have any idea on that regarding a provider who would be a "best fit" for him?
Is he happy in school? Does he eve feel scared? Is anyone ever mean to him? He is nonverbal so I do keep close contact with his teacher but it is always a fear.
will he ever be able to talk to me,tell me how he feels.
Hmm...I would actually like to know what she thinks my son's prognosis is based on her extensive experience (he's in a special ed class). No one ever wants to say anything like that out loud because they might provide false hope or false security and I get that...BUT, I'm sure she has a private opinion and I would love to know what it is.
