Has Anyone Tried The Online ABA Trianing For Parents? Several Companies Offer It.

My current insurance does not cover ABA and my daughter was dening long term care. I can not afford the therapy private pay, I was considering one of the several online programs offered.

We run a non-profit that partnered with www.autismsupportnow.com to bring simple easy to follow videos for ABA strategies to use in the home with your children- for free! We will be adding videos, audio-casts and a blog with information. Hope it helps!

The Verbal Behavior Approach is a great book for learning about ABA-VB (my advice though is to ignore the parts on signs, and work on PECS). Also lots of video and things available for free rethinkautism has free clips in addition to their paid service, youtube does as well (just make sure it is valid)...Your school districts parent resource center may have training materials to lend as well...good luck!

You can see if you child will qualify for medicaid independently. If so, you can seek ABA Providers via the EPSDT Waiver which is not based on family income. EPSDT covers other types of medical services that medicaid may not cover as well. The key is, you child must be a medicaid recipient to access these benefits (avoid applying for medicaid as a family, you will be denied). I know this is how it works in the state of Virginia. Good luck!

There are inexpensive or free medical programs in every state for children. I am sure it will cover ABA. Your child needs it in addition to everything else you can do at home.

I read a couple books. "The ME book" by Lovaas. And the book by Gina Green and Catherine Maurice (after reading her book "Let Me Hear Your Voice".) I think the title is "Behavioral Interventions for Young People...." This last book even has charts you can fill out and they are presented in developmental order.
