Thanks taking a quick look. I am writing on behalf of another Autistic Child and his family. I will not go into all the details. Since the process is long and it is tied into court, he has no protection. He has been just stripped away from his day to day routine, home, and taken to a place with nothing but strangers (note this isn't a fostercare issue). I think through the Regional Centers there are attorneys that deal specifically with these issues. I pray it works out for the child & family...

Every situation is unique and there are individuals who specializes depending on what kind of disability the child has. Sounds like you need a Law Guardian - at least that what they are called here in NY, that has special needs cases background. I found a site that might be helpful: http://www.education-a-must.com/advocates.html#CO

Or they under the CA section can at least point you in the right direction, the worst they can say is "Sorry I don't know." Others may even give you a name and contact info.

A guardian ad litem should be appointed to tell the best interest of the child to the court. They may or may not have experience with special needs.
Other than that reports from other professionals, an documentation of the positive situation need to be brought to court. There are educational advocates for special needs some specific to autism, but I have never heard of anything similar for custody/court issues. An understanding guardian ad litem is what is needed.
