Where in SC did you live? We have considered Mt. Pleasant and Greenville but felt there were more services available in Raleigh area.

What about through insurance? We have great insurance coverage but have minimal services available here in FL! The best providers are in Miami 2 hours from my house which is not feasible. Are school resources minimal too.! I have heard that they mainstream ASD kids in Wake county that have an avg. IQ. Then they assign resource teachers and even one-on- one if needed.

Sorry to hear it has not worked out for you ;-(

Hi Lynndu I have been struggling to get any kind of support for my son since I got here. I was shocked to learn that a lot of programs that existed in SC do not in NC (such as TEFRA Medicaid which helps cover costs of therapeutic services). I personally like the area, however, my initial impression is don't expect to get much help from the state for your disabled child --unless you are already on disability services at a federal level. Good Luck!

Hi! I just wanted to see how your relocation to NC is going. Have you been satisfied with services. We are also considering relocation to the Wake County area and would like any additional feedback. Thanks
