The law is definitely on the side of the Service dog being allowed. But that being said..... as a member of the IEP team you should be willing to try to work with the other team members to come to a solution regarding the "problem". For example, let's pretend that the problem is that another child in the classroom is allergic to dogs and therefore gets sick. Then the IEP team should meet and discuss if there's a better placement for your child.... (or the other child). Or let's say that some children in the classroom get really excited and disruptive because your dog is there. Then you could meet with the team to discuss how boundaries would be established and taught so the children know if and when they are allowed to interact with the dog. Since we don't know the nature of the problem, its hard to say. The law is on your side so you don't have to hammer them with it. Its a great opportunity for them to see you work with them in a collaborative way. That will really help you in the future when you are asking for something that is not dictated by law.

Get enough support behind you,get it in the IEP. They can not refuse if it is what she needs. Also have a Dr. get involved, saying she needs it. No Child Left Behind!! Try to work with the team, but also get anyone you can to stand by the fact that she needs this to succeed.

I have known schools that say a guide dog can not come to school...of course in the end they had to allow it.

Wondering if the same school would do the same if the person were blind and it was a Guide Dog???? I am hoping you have an IEP and it should be included in that.
