We've had the same problem for 5+ yrs with 14yo son. We bought new toilets at Home Depot. We talked to staff person and explained there were problems with flushing. We've not had a problem since. Do you know any plumbers you could ask about product types? In addition, we started working with a children's hospital with gastro specialist. They were able to help son become more regular with medications so that BMs started happening daily. His stools are much better and smaller and he doesn't have as much cramping and nausea.

Well, we bought one that has secondary drains and "can't" overflow because Little Man is terrified of a toilet overflowing for some reason. But it can, and does, still get backed up. I swear that kid loses 10 pounds every time he goes to the bathroom. He's a small kid so I don't know where he keeps it all ;)

This might be helpful in controlling repetitive flushing in younger kids. https://flushstop.com/ It's a lock for the toilet lever. Prevents flushing (with childproof button that can be easily unlocked by an adult when it's time to flush). It's designed for potty training toddlers, but it works well to curb all compulsive flushing behavior in young children. I use it at home right now.

I have found a great toilet from online called Gerber's Ultra Flow and I have found a plumber who will be able to put it in. Now, my son says he does not want another one because he likes the bidet attachment I have on the Kosher we have their now and does not mind the plunging to clear the line. ARGH! I will have to see if the Gerber is flat enough to take the Bidet attachment. I have to do more investigation and talking soothing to son to get him to comply if it all works out! Hope Pray Love and not really (scream maul grab and stuff down said toilet)

Wayne wont take the meds anymore for it! he will let it sit like a log in the toilet to let it break down. Then he will flush small amounts at a time. If it gets into a problem he starts plunging but sometimes that does not work and I call the plumber for help. That is $50.00 per time. I either need to buy an auger and learn how to use it (ick) or buy the special air compressor type toilet which runs about $500.00 for tank and bowl combo plus the fee for putting it in.
