Well, I personally noticed around 5th grade (11 years old). I started acting like a dog in the classroom as a way of coping with the world around me. I was originally diagnosed with Asperger's the next year, but it was dismissed because I "was social", had "high grades" and am "a girl". I was officially diagnosed when I was 15, in 10th grade.
I have twin kindergarteners on the spectrum. I'd really like your perspective as someone's who has been there. At what age did you start to notice that you were different from your typically developing peers?
