New study out showing MB12 shot with folinic acid efficacy tied to glutathione redox status (GSH/GSSG). Glutathione is the main antioxidant of the body.

Significant correlation and efficacy seen with respect to expressive communication and social skills. For us, it had immediate and noticeable impact and we do see a lot more expressive communication after shot. We use methyl folate instead of folinic acid. Interesting. My DD is on mB12 but not folinic acid/Leucovorin. She is however taking 5MTHF, which is a different bioactive form of folate.

Yeah I read a lot of Dr. Neubrander's research. I wish we lived nearer to his office and he could see Logan. we do give the shot at a steep angle. well in order not to waste the prescription I have left, I will try the half of the dose every 3 days and then get the new prescription corrected. thanks for the info.

Our son was around 37lbs when we got the script and 3 years old. It isn't the high dosage that matters for MB12 as much as constant availability of MB12 throughout the day (don't need much for that). The original protocol by Dr Neubrander was to give sub-cutaneous shot at steep angle, so the dose would be slowly released into the blood stream and effect could last up to 3 days - that is very hard to do consistently which is why some parents do daily shots.

Although there is no known toxicity with MB12 given water soluble and any excess is excreted anyway, I would still try to correct dosage from the doctor, or get the pharmacy to call your doctor's office to correct dosage as he may have calculated based on lbs, not kg. I would try to get the RX fixed and do it correctly per the study.
