Even with two incomes you can still get SSI but the money you get is going to be lower but there is a low level amount you would still get. Now the benefit of this is that if you qualify you will also qualify for Medicaid and that means if they have a primary insurance Medicaid comes in as a secondary and picks up the copayment at the Dr and for the RX at the pharmacy. It is well worth it, just make sure you have all your medical documentation but from the sound of it you must have quite a bit.

Thanks, I looked it up and will apply, but with 2 incomes, we are unlikely to qualify financially.

The trouble is, even with health insurance, the copays for 4 therapy visits weekly (2 for each kid), regular psychiatrist visits (again for each kid), regular visits to 6 different specialists for my son and all of the medical copays for their various medicines for ADHD -Anti depressants - Mood Stabilizers - Anti Anxiety meds, and weekly tutor for my son, it's financially crushing.
And all this in addition to all the regular check ups and stuff that all kids need.

Both mine are very socially awkward, and have great difficulty making friends so the only way to get them out and involved with other kids is to sign them up for activities which also cost money. I also want to spend more time with them both, but I come home exhausted, and can't afford to quit my job or work fewer hours.

I feel guilty complaining, and I know there are others who have it far worse, but I feel worn out and there is just no way to get ahead, and without any financial reserves left, I really worry about the future.
