Any Sleeping Suggestions?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all,
My son does not sleep well at all and sometimes not at all. We started with melatonin which had a reverse effect and kept him awake. Tried night time teas, sensory vests, brushing, etc. He is currently on trazedone and has been for some time. We cannot increase because of his size. We start the process each night at 8 and usually by 11:30 or 12 he is asleep until 6. Looking for any advice or tips on how to get him to bed faster and easier :)

my son takes Remron.(Rx from his doctor) It helps sleep by reducing his anxiety and letting him relax.

I didn't notice an age. My 7 yr old, at only 58 pounds is able to take two 5mg melatonin and 1 tablet of .10 clonodine. She sleeps through the night from about 8p to 6a. But consult your dr first.

what is he doing from 8-11:30? Laying in bed? Watching TV? Crying?

Is trazodone for asleep? If you are not seeing any efficacy from this, I would drop this and use melatonin and taurine. Both melatonin and trazodone are targeting the serotonin pathway.
