My daughter took it for a while but the affects did not last long so we took her off it, it only took the edge off anyway.

She now takes Prozac and Seraquil during the day and Trazadone with another dose of Seraquil to sleep and keeps her sleeping through the night.

I will say it took months to find the right mixture of meds to help out daughter, we tried a bunch before we got where we are now. Every child is different and what works on one may not work on another.

My son is on clonidine and he takes it at night and it works well. It seemed to take about a week to fully kick in. He's not showing any side effects and he has been taking this for about 8 months. I hope this helps.

My second son has ADD, Bipolar and Pervasive Developmental Disorder. He takes Strattera for his ADD (which took about 4 weeks to see the full affect) in the morning, Trileptal for his Bipolar at night and Seroquel at night to help him sleep (his psychiatrist said that this helps is Bipolar and ADD). After the four weeks it has been fabulous. What times does she take her medications, you might need to see about taking them at different times if they keep up her all night.

My daughter takes clonidine 4 times a day. I'd say it works for a couple of hours. At first it worked for the full 4 hours, but each time she gets used to it and it has to be increased frequently to have the same effect.
