What is the best health insurance plan for families living with autism? We are in Massachusetts. Our choices are Fallon, Harvard PIlgrim or Tufts Navigator. Ma does the law mandating autism services. What we don't have is a law forcing providers to accept the pittance the insurance companies will pay for said services. We have a terrible time finding someone because United Behavioral Health (Tufts mental health management co) is horrible.
That is the issue with everything, no one tells you what you can get. The state is not going to say anything either unfortunately. You should contact DDS department of developmental services and apply there as well they will assign you a case worker and they will tell you what you can do and get. I have worked with a few of them and they are great.
I have Blue Cross/Blue shield which isn't on your list, but get Mass Health for your child and whatever isn't covered by your private insurance should be covered by Mass Health
We don't, yet. I need to file the paperwork. It took an advocate who is a neighbor to tell me we could do that. Might have been useful for one of his specialists to bring it up.
If you have Masshealth they should cover the mental health visits, not sure about the social groups because we do not really do that right now.
Thnx. His mental health visits mainly and social skills groups
The neuropsyche testing was a nightmare with Tufts. I kept getting pawned off on geriatric specialists
