I am considering methyl b12 shots for my 23 month old. Is this too young? Has anybody else tried them this early?
We made huge gains with MB12! For my son (now recovered) b12 and diet were his keys to recovery! Good for you for starting bio med early! I only wish we would have started sooner!
We tried at 2.5 years, around 30 months or so. The dosage is based on weight, so it isn't early. Aside from removing casein, that was one of the best intervention that we did (combined with methyl folate, as need to also supplement methyl folate/folinic if doing MB12 shots. search for the recent methylB12/folinic acid study that was done and I believe I had posted here as well). Good luck.
The research study my DD was part of had a minimum age of 3, but I suspect that had more to do with the tests the researchers used to assess progress than appropriateness of mb12 for younger kids.
We did them for 4 months. She was 2.5. We stopped because didn't see a difference. However, they work for some people. She has responded very well to all the other supplements that she's tried. We're every happy with her progress.
what age did you start the shots and how long were you one them ?
