Help Getting My Child's Shoes On!

My son goes through streaks where he doesn't want to wear his coat or shoes. Usually it is a seasonal change so I get it and am patient while we work through it. He can go a month and not have any problems, and then all of the sudden his shoes are "not tight enough". We were doing really good and now for the last few weeks he refuses to wear shoes. Thanks May! I have tried adding socks and that has worked...for three days! :( We have occupational therapy on Monday so I am going to see if they can help with it as well.

If his complaint is that they aren't tight enough, I'd just give him a second pair of socks. That would make his shoes feel a lot more snug.
Everyone has their own approach to dealing with these sensory behaviors and if their really inappropriate then modifying the behavior is necessary but if it's something simple that won't be disruptive I think it's ok to let him feed that sensory need.
