Compulsive Eating / Binge Eating?

Any experience with binge eating or compulsive eating behaviors? Since my 10 year old daughter started puberty, she has been exhibiting some compulsive eating behaviors. Food is obviously a comfort to her and a sensory input for her, but I am trying to watch the amount and the quality of the food she eats for her health. If the behavior is only just before her period and her eating habits are otherwise relatively normal/healthy I wouldn't worry about it.
I personally don't eat large portions, snack or have other bad eating habits but a day or two before my period, I feel like my stomach is empty all the time and it's the only time I really want sweets or snacks so I can understand what a drive hormones can be when it comes to eating.
