My son is 12 and we have been waiting for services for occupational therapy but they keep telling us that he is on the waiting list. He gets speech therapy from school but I don't think they are doing a good job. Do anyone have any suggestions?
Our pediatric neurologist was able to pull strings for DD and get her bumped up to the top of the waitlist that she was already on. Good luck!
@A MyAutismTeam Member You can get some private ones. Is he a moderate to high functioning autistic student? I can do more of the mental health/wellness stuff, as I am employed by Go2Care, Inc. to provide telehealth OT services. If you are not in California, as long as you are in the US, you can access me given that the needs fits what I can offer him... as Go2Care, Inc. will take care of the paperwork to legally see him.
We tried it but they said he didn't qualify for ot services.
Your school should be giving this at no cost. If you on a waiting list through your county,it took us about 2 years. Otherwise have it put in an IEP through the school. They have to offer this service.
Thanks CrimsonWife the next time he sees the neurologist I will ask her.
