The developmental pediatrician who diagnosed DD said that the diagnostic criteria for Asperger's excludes a speech & language delay. So my DD's diagnosis is HFA rather than Asperger's because she has a speech & language delay. But otherwise the challenges are similar.

They are now kind of interchangeable. Aspergers used to be a kind of HFA but as of the DSM 5 they now use HFA.

Could you please explain to me what is difference? I got so confused. My son is HFA. But school resource teacher sometimes use Asperger, too.
