Advice On ABA Schools In California For Non-US Child
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am considering a move to California from the UK because of the lack of ABA treatment here. My son is 5 years old & I believe an ABA school would be best for him.
Is there anyone on here who has moved to the US in similar circumstances?
Any idea how I go about getting him into a school in California? What sort of costs?
Any help would be gratefully received.

Hello! I am from California, but now live in Chicago. I still have California connections, and just recently learned of an online support group for caretakers of kids with Autism - mostly from central California. She speaks very highly of the support her son is receiving. I"m sure she'd be happy to help you! Her email is [[email: [[email: [[email: [[email: (Email address can only be seen by the question and answer creators) Her name is Meagan. I'll let her know to be expecting your email. Hope this helps!!

I don't live in California but you may check out these links as the schools themselves may be able to answer some of your questions.

Thank you both so much for your help. I found the links very useful, talked to a couple of schools, and then found ABC who are consultants. The guys was really nice & talked me through how the process works in CA. I am now working with my company (based in CA) on the different types of medical insurance I qualify for, and have been put in touch with a guy in the company in same position who will be helping me out. If anyone else reads this & has done a similar thing, please get in touch.
