I was speaking with one of the mothers at my child's DAN Dr. Her child is 8 now and has been doing it every other week since she was 4. The way she described her child before the chelation sounded a lot like my daughter. Now that little girl looks completely typical. She has lots of friends and does dance competitions. I really don't want to chelat my child I just wanted to see if anyone else had good results from it.

NAC (n-acetyl cysteine was something the hospital tried for several months. I'm not sure if it did anything. If heavy metals caused my son's autism, then chelation should have cured it, dontcha think?

Acetyl-l-carnitine (DD tested deficient in carnitine), Coenzyme Q10, and Behavior Balance DMG gave us the biggest gains. Methyl B12 injections and Oxytocin nasal spray also helped, but those gains were milder.

Which do you feel have been most beneficial?

Our biomed doctor neither performs nor recommends chelation because he does not think it has a favorable risk/potential benefit ratio. We have seen tremendous progress from other biomed treatments, however.
