Any One Have Any Luck With Dairy-free Cheese Substitutes?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son has multiple food allergies, and I fear he has developed one to dairy as well :(. He also is on a gluten-free diet which has helped him stay better in control of frustration and anger. Anyway I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for dairy-free cheeses? Really trying to find an okay replacement for mac and cheese (it has to be dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and the tough one when it comes to prepared DF/GF mac and cheese is sunflower oil free.) Any ideas?

I do not think I have an answer for you, but I sympathize! My child is allergic to milk, soy, wheat, gluten, and peanuts, and it makes things very hard. There is an 80% chance that he is allergic to goat's milk, so we never tried that. You might try it. Also, have you tried soy products?

Daiya cheddar will make a great Mac and cheese :)

My son is dairy free and honestly the dairy free 'cheeses' out there are not great. Daiya is the best I've found. Just know that you will probably never find a palatable cheese for just snacking on, you will have to melt it for it to be eatable.

He eats a lot of foods, and I already limit the mac and cheese….he used to eat the soy nut butter, but refuses now not sure why, but he won't touch the stuff. :(
27 allergens that is tough!!

thanks…melting cheese is all I am looking for he does like to eat cheese sometimes, but not as "important" as mac and cheese..and since nearly all of his other favorite foods were taken away by his previous allergens didn't want to him completely freak out….
