Sensitivity In Positive Reactions
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Have any of you experienced sensitivity in positive praise? My son likes praise but I find a to excited pitch or reaction, even though positive can further irratate him. I'm not jumping up and down going crazy but I do try to sound very proud of him, but sometimes it can upset him more...

Yes, my son is the same. We try very hard to praise him but not "over" praise him. At school, they use non-verbal praise such as stickers, a thumbs up, or a big smile to let him know that he did a good job.
