I recently noticed the multivitamin I have been giving my kids has red dye 40. I want to give my kids a better vitamin. In my research, I found out kids with ASD need certain vitamins and minerals to feel better. I would love some input on what some of you give, and I'd also like to know why iron and copper are contraindicated.
Thorne Research - can order from iherb. Both iron and copper toxicity can be an issue which is why some multivitamins do not contain these (Thorne brand has with or without). I wouldn't worry about iron as it is low in most ASD cases, but do avoid copper. Zinc is an important element to supplement to keep copper in check.
I know its a lot but with my calculations of minerals and vitamins it is very similar in cost. It is a great vitamin. My son has made improvements. Its hard to explain these improvements overall health etc.. its called AGAPE. Its liquid. We give him that and Trienza (he has dietary issues) Trienza assists with digestion and helps with things like focus. But those vitamins, they have EVERYTHING needed and at the correct levels. most others are low in D or B12 or in some other area.
Klaire Labs Vita-Spectrum but I've also heard good things about Kirkman Super Nu-Thera and Brain Child Nutritionals Spectrum Support.
little critter's gummy is what I give my kids
Rainbow light kids one multivitamin, it's perfect.
Also Nordic naturals omega 3-6-9 soft gels
Both at whole foods.
Best of luck! :)
