Zoloft And Risperdal?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello, My 13 year old son has been on Risperdal (2mg) for a couple years. It has helped a ton for aggression. No sided effects thankfully...He started with major anxiety a couple of months ago so the Doc added 25 mg of Zoloft. It helped a lot but seems to be tapering off. Does anyone use these drugs together? Just looking to hear others experiences. Thanks. :)

@JodiMa-this is OfficerGrandma. We started Risperdone Sept-2-14 right before the 1st day of school. Today is Oct-9-14 and I would say in a nutshell, out of all those days, I think we had 5 bad days. Most of the bad days was because the child soiled themselves and suffers from autism regression. But beyond that, it appears to be working and our side effect is constant constipation and gas....lol

@LuAnnGriffin-did your daughter have any issue with a delayed period like we are having with Risperdone?

My daughter took Zoloft from age 16-18. She asked her physicians help to come off of it at 18. She says it helped her though the tough yrs of high school, so she has no regrets. It wasn't an easy drug to wean off of. She made the decision to do so. I think it took about 6 months to completely come off of it, and some weeks were pretty rough. Still, she has no regrets.
