We just started our son on a-acetal glutathione. He seems to be more engaged, but also a little more "screamy". What's your experience with this supplement?
Typically, glutathione in oral form is not well absorbed. The exception to that might be S-Acetyl form which is claimed to be more stabilized and makes it past the gut. Coincidentally, I ordered that form today, but all prior forms of GSH that we had tried didn't show any discernible changes. However, we are already supplement antioxidants as well as MB12 to help raise intracellular glutathione as well, so it is possible any incremental efficacy may be minimal for us.
Two other supplements that can raise glutathione that have shown efficacy in randomized double blind studies for Autism are NAC and recently, sulforphane (from broccoli sprouts). MB12 / folinic has been shown to do that as well in a few ASD studies as well.
Good luck.
I meant S-acetal
