ABA Services In San Fernando Valley
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm looking for parents who have their children participating in ABA services with ABI autism behavior intervention or with CARD center for autism and related disorders located in Tarzana & Encino. I Googled them both and they both have good qualities and services. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice for receiving ABA services here in the Valley. Please let me know any and all information about the Quality of care for children with Autism specially Aspergers.

I just saw your post tonight. I know it has been a while since you asked this question but I wanted to share with you my experience with CARD in Tarzana. In my opinion, CARD did not care about my child. All they cared about was getting hours for their therapists. They push hours on you and the hours are very unrealistic. The therapists are all college age kids with little to NO experience. My case supervisor had poor communication with us. Google reviews for CARD and you will see. I also yelped them because I was so disappointed with this company.

Sure, no problem. Good luck with CARD if you decide to stay with them. One advice I would give you is to make sure that the therapists you have are experienced and qualified. I will keep you posted

Please keep me update on that experience so if they are good I can change to them. Thanks again for the info.

I got the same impression you did at first- after all, they are CARD. I thought that they were helpful, cutting edge and that my child would be getting the best therapy. We started services in the summer. My first red flag was the amount of hours they wanted to have us commit to (20 hrs a week). There were other red flags. But I can tell you what lead to our departure from CARD. See, CARD changes your therapists about every 6 months, so the new therapist my son was seeing really didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. I asked our case manager what her experience was and he said that she just finished training and she had none. I asked for a change in therapists and I wanted one with experience. They could not provide us with one so we left. I am now doing intake at A Children's Developmental Milestones- this company is a vendor with the Regional Center.

Where did you take your child after CARD disappointed you? Did you find a quality replacement? It's very difficult to find any advice this area. Did you go through regional center or your own insurance?
