My Sons Routine Has Changed Due To His Fathers Work Schedule Changing. He Has Never Had Majo
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Okay, so my husbands schedule has changed, which has changed my little boy. He has never ever really had behavioral issues, just a few minor meltdowns. However, since my husbands work schedule change, there have been more meltdowns and for the first time in his life (he is 10), two weeks ago at school he had to be restrained so that he wouldn't hurt himself. He was hitting himself in the head, hitting his head up against the walls, etc. Never, ever has he done this before. Can anyone give me… read more

It might help to talk a lot about the changes and help him verbalized how he is feeling. Maybe it's a combination of frustration anxiety and lack of sleep? Try to establish new routine rituals that are calming to him and make sure to talk about changes in advance. Hope that helps!

I can't get my son to eat vegetables at all. He gags every time. :( He is on low carbs, autism vitamins of several kind. Probotic? What kind? He is on a dha vitamin & an immune booster as well as a full multi-vitamin for autism.

ChristineL...I keep my little boy on immune boosters, dha and several other autism vitamins that have helped him a great deal in my belief. As our children, we see them daily and know how they behave. His diet? Up until the past few years we couldn't get him to eat much at all. His gag refluxes were horrible, certain textures. Now he at least tries stuff. No sweets. His snacks consist of nutrigrain bars, cheese nips, etc. No kool aid, and if it's juice, due to the acidity of it, I still water it down to this day. His dad has been trying the past few days, while they are on christmas break to at least spend a few minutes w/him just the two of them. So, I am hoping it will stop or not continue. HOping it was an isolated incident. Yes, he goes to social studies, music, p.e. and art with the regular 5th graders. He has even been invited to go on field trips with them. Like I said, he has never had these types of meltdowns, I don't want them to hold him back. He needs the socializm.

Its strange though, he is 10. Other then a few meltdowns of crying and whatnot, never, ever and physical till now. Never being restrained, nothing. He is allowed to go to a few regular classes with 5th grade because he is good.:(
