Applied for disability services in Horry county south Carolina. My son is 18. Diagnosed at 2 yrs old with developmental delay, 12 yrs old with Aspergers. Both diagnosis done at a children's hospital by physicians and psychiatrists. Disability department did there own testing. They say my son isn't on the spectrum, doesn't have any delays or intellectual disability.

I understand your fustration. From my understanding they are going to or have already changed their requirements for what they considered disabled. I do not understand why they would not approve your son. Seems to me if they ignore these signs of disabilities based off New assessments they won't benefit anyone but themselves. Saving money is not the answer, many children may suffer from this including ours! My son receives SSI disability for his autism/speech impairment, but because of his improvement with therapy he may not qualify next assessment.

Appeal and make THEM prove why their assessment is accurate and your private one isn't.
