If You Had An Older Child With ASD Did You Vaccinate The Younger One(s) And If So And You Used A Delayed Schedule What Was It?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Our oldest (girl) is on the spectrum. Our youngest (boy) is 17 months and no vaccines yet but thinking about starting given measles outbreaks. He shows no signs of being on the spectrum and seems NT. If you have been in this situ did you vaccinate your subsequent children, what were the results, and what delayed vax schedule did you use? Thanks!!!

There are risks both ways. No such thing as a risk-free vaccine, and getting measles isn't without risks either. Both can cause brain damage (which can very well lead to ASD diagnosis as has been documented) as well death. The question is that of probabilities and risk in each case and opinions will significantly vary on this and that's okay.

If there is any history of immune or mito dysfunction or autoimmunity (i.e. genetic susceptibility), personally I wouldn't do it. And if I were to do get the shots, I would make sure to NOT give Tylenol before or after (or ever for that matter, use ibuprofen instead if needed). At present, there is more epidemiological evidence linking Tylenol to adverse neurodevelopment outcomes than MMR.

Good luck either way.

i didn't. in my opinion I wouldn't risk it it. no harm waiting until he is about 4 and starting kindergarten. there may be no proven link between autism and the MMR but there is no 100 percent certainty that there isn't. and measles usually is not fatal

vaccinate your child please, Autism is genetic and is not caused by vaccines at all. no matter what odd celebrities tell you.
