Special Needs Screenings At Movie Theater
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I was just wondering if anyone has attended a special needs screening? If so what is it like? One of my boys sometimes makes loud noises and laughs really loud and claps during movies. People have gotten upset with him and myself at theatres.

They generally have the light brighter and not as dim and the sound is much lower. It is nice because there are others in the same boat as you and no one complains when the children are loud or are moving around.

i have 2 sons with Tourette Syndrome which manifests in involuntary verbal and motor tics. I know through the Tourette Syndrome Association of Illinois have special outings and screenings of events. Also, your special recreation district usually operated through your park district may have some similar offerings. good luck.
