MHTFR DNA Analysis
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Did anyone get MHTFR DNA analysis done for the child? If yes, what does below statement mean? This individual is heterozygous for MTHFR A1298C (One copy). The MTHFR C677T variant not identified. I researched this and it seems single mutation is very common and there are no issues.Any thoughts?

Make sure it has folinic acid or methyl folate and NOT synthetic folic acid. Synthetic folic acid may be counter productive as it needs to be further converted into usable form but it still competes with bioactive form for transport. Good luck.

Very detailed response facetious. I appreciate it. We are getting supplements for my 2.5 year old.
