I live in the Chicago Western Suburbs, have a BA in Liberal arts and have experience as a parent Liaison for parents of kid's with special needs. I need week day work, but time is limited.
@A MyAutismTeam Member It depends on what you want. There are some companies that do work from home, but they are not as flexible as you might think. I tried that route a few years ago and I still had to be available when they said and I still had to buy a phone, headphones, get a dedicated landline...it was nuts and despite that, I still didn't get any of the those jobs.
Outside of Childcare, you're only other option is to get into a Direct Selling Company, like Mary Kay or something like that. There are 100's of very legit companies on that list that all have to meet a very strict set of standards. The only thing is...you actually have to put in the work every day, including learning and growing yourself. That's what I do...I'm in that industry, but I am in Travel with the only company that is on that list.
To be honest...it has been the best thing ever for me and my family. I work when I want to, but most importantly, it's helped me grow so much, which in turn has helped my daughter make some good progress over the last year. I work when I can around my kids and my daughter's many appointments each week, which in turn has made me a much better advocate for her.
Those really are your only options though and if you go that route, you would just need to figure out what industry and company would be the best fit for you, since there are so many options. Best of lucky, I hope you find something!!
you could do child care, house cleaning or elder care
Thank you @A MyAutismTeam Member. I am glad that you found flexible and fulfilling work./ I am going to research it.
