Living In Rural Iowa Is Not Working. Need To Find A More Functional Place To Live.
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Our family is looking to relocate. Where is the question? We need to be in an area suitable for our special needs children. They are both very friendly and would like to have friends more like them. Vinny, my 8 year old, feels the barrier between him and his classmates. Looking for a warmer climate (I get seasonal depression very badly), good supports for the kids, a good school system, and in a supportive community. Taking any and all ideas!!!! Thanks in advance for any help.

Glenwood Autism & Behavioral Health Center, Birmingham, Al.
Glenwood.org/contact-us/. The"g" is not in caps my tablet changes it to
capital letter. Google for further information. Our 29 year old daughter has lived in their residential facilities, since she was l6 years old. She received community
services from Glenwood , before being admitted to their children's residential
program. God sends you where you need to be. Twenty years ago, my husband
retired from Ford Motor Co., in Michigan. He wanted to return to his home state.
I did not want to move to Alabama. Glad I did. There is nothing like Glenwood
in Michigan. We have made a good life for ourselves. The state has grown on me. But, frankly, Glenwood has kept us here. Hope I have been of some help
Ms. Oelkers.

Are you looking for an Autism only school, or mainstreaming your children in to a public school? Have you thought of moving to Ohio, Illinois etc. I live in MD, which has all four seasons. My family was able to drive to John Hopkins, Kennedy Krieger hospitals, which were great for my daughter whom is 19 years old. She just graduated from the public school system, and is going to a 2 year college in my town. She only has a partial from of Austim - Fragile X.
