Aggression And Insomnia Issues
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

We had a second opinion about meds. A suggestion was given to try Depakote or Lamictal. He can't take Risperidone due to his brain tumor history and his prolactin level skyrockets. He already takes some Tenex for aggression. His insomnia doesn't help. Melatonin is apparently not working. Suggestions or ideas??

using it as a massage on the feet and deep tissue in the arms is awesome for them too.... I have another ? is he using a weighted blanket..or tried one.... I am more against the medication just for the fact that every time its either a change to another or upping the dose and the little guys cant tell us what It is doing to begin with... hyper activity off meds is also a allergic reaction... it scares me when we are using it to make them sleep.

I'm probably real late on telling you to rub his feet and arms with lavender oil...and putting a drop or two on a cotton ball under his pillow...its a sleep soother. Works for gs along with melatonin... I often don't give the melatonin after massage. I hope you find a good combo tho

Oh that is a great idea. I have not tried the weighted blanket. I have tried oils in the diffuser, moving his bed, night light, no night light, I will have to look into getting one. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you. I have a diffuser I put oils in and I do think it helps him sleep a little better.
