I'm trying to get aba services for my son but everywhere I go they don't take my insurance so I would be a pay out of pocket but I don't have funds to pay but he and I desperately need help
In Mississippi, we got a program just starting this called HB 814 in which one part of financial assistance for families They can help with cost of therapies, services and equipment for a child with special needs. Call your Department of Education-Special Education Division and see if they have something like this.
Are you in Naperville? Both Naperville school districts are good. They might have a school program with ABA or maybe therapeutic placement? alexian Brothers Hospital Autism resource Center sometimes offers grants. The last I heard, they were doing cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Il. Masonic in Chicago and Lutheran general Hospital accept all insurance and offer ABA/Behavioral therapy. This involves minimum clinic hours and a lot of parent training. You can purchase single person insurance now but might have to wait until the next enrollment period. You can get on the Puns list and apply for Crisis Criteria. That is the way to get services through medicaid.
Are these services that are in addition to the schools services, in most districts schools have to provide services to a certain level. Kindering is a good look, also Eastern Seals and some other groups.
Do you have a place like Kindering, which offers therapies and preschool at low or no price. You should avail yourself of Medicaid for your child, and any and all funds the government can give. You should be able to collect a paltry sum every month and some ABA services are covered under Medicaid. I wish you the best of luck. ABA services changed my life. My boys were regressing into grunting, hair pulling, whining little toddlers. Get GOOD ones, you and your child deserve a great therapist even if you cannot pay the astronomical cost of trying to help your child cope with life and blend in a bit better and function maybe.
Did you contact Alexian Brothers? I was told that they sometimes still offer the parent training grants when they have the funds.
