Houston Area Public Schools
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am looking for the best Houston,TX area public schools for a child with autism. He is verbal and in a mainstreamed private Pre-K in MS right now with pull out for special education services. We have three other children in general education so we are looking for the best of both worlds as well as convenience to Houston Hobby airport.

I have heard Westview (private school) is good. I don't have any experience with them. One if my friends son goes to Spring ISD and she can't stop talking about just how positive and supportive the teachers and the administration has been.

I'm in southeast houston. We love Dickinson isd where my daughter attends pre k and I hear pretty good things about clear Creek isd sometimes. All other isds south of beltway 8 and east of 45 are comparably terrible, including Galveston. Dickinson isd just built 2 new elementary schools.
